Azri was on business trip, so we took this opportunity to do a little bit of exploration around that area. Mossy Forest is located at Mt Brinchang. It is gazetted as a reserved forest. The view is really unique like you're in one of the scenes in Lord of The Rings. Well check out this pixs..

We went for a trip to Terengganu and Kelantan last Chinese New Year Holiday together with Azri's parents and brother. One of the latest attraction in Terengganu is the Islamic Civilisation Park (Taman Tamadun Islam), build entirely on a small island, Pulau Wan Man, off Kg Losong (kepok lekor) in Kuala Terengganu. The park is not yet complete and was not officially open. We learned that the opening ceremony is actually on the evening of the day we went there.
The Masjid Kristal is actually quite small, fits only for around 700 people. The main attraction is the design itself. So enjoy these few pics... and if you have the resources (rezeki) do go to check it yourself, you won't regret it.

Tin Dregde and Pasir Salak Historical Complex
|
|
The Tin Dredge or Kapal Korek can be visited for free... good to bring your kids for the experience. Although we are not allowed to go in but we can get close enough to it to feel the history of tin mining in Malaysia. An uncle who keeps an eye on the site told us the machine or rather the 'ship' is donated by the MMC (Malaysian Mining Corporation) but lack of maintenance and initiative to fully utilise this piece of history will make the machine to eventually turn to rust.
Later that day we went to Pasir Salak, the place where the British Residence to Perak was killed. Why he was killed... open your textbook ! Or you can come to the museum there and get into the 'time tunnel' to learn about the history. There is also Kris Museum (Muzium Keris) where hundred of kris are displayed. If you are interested to learn about kris, this is the place to visit.

Lenggong Archelogical Museum, Kekabu Waterfall, Raban Lake
|
|
The places that we visited this time is located along the Kuala Kangsar - Grik Highway. The museum together with the geological garden is about 50 minutes drive from Ipoh. The other spots that we've stopped by are a little nearer.
The Lenggong Archeology Museum is where 'the Perak Man's' current address. At the museum, we will learn about archeological findings in and around Lenggong Valley... the types of ancient tools at the different sites... comparison with other sites in South East Asia and the World... information on different 'ages' and so many other things. Perak Man is believed to be older than the one found in Hoabinh, Vietnam which makes it the oldest of all the human remains.... sorry for my bad explanation. But someone there hinted to us that there is another remain found not too long ago which is even older than the Perak Man... just wait and see.
The Geological Garden presents us the different types of rocks found in Hulu Perak area but the main attraction is the Archeology Museum.
Kekabu Waterfall (Lata Kekabu) is another nice place to relax and enjoy cool stream of clear unpoluted water. The facilities are adequate and are well maintained. There is ample parking space near the entrance.
Raban Lake (Tasik Raban) is quite famous in Perak for its 'ikan bakar' (BBQ fish). The lake is the source of the fish where different types of freshwater fish are bred. The Restoran Tasik Raban has its branch in Ipoh, near the Perak Stadium.
